Community Letter

Good afternoon – I wanted reach today on the first day of Spring Break to share some thoughts about this school closure and the impact it is having on all of us.  We are aware of how hard this has been on many of our parents and students and want you to know that we are here to help.  We will continue to provide breakfast and lunch throughout the Spring Break week and then will reassess, each week moving forward.  I also asking that if you are in need of specific assistance we may be able to help so please reach out to myself or the leadership team.  The RMCA BOD wants to ensure our community that we are here if you need us.

I want to thank you all for the hard work that you have put in on the frontline of learning over the last week.  I know that it has been difficult but I am amazed at how teachers and parents have partnered together during this time to make the most out of it.  I want to reiterate how proud I am of our staff.  Everyone from Assistant Principals to teachers, office staff, lunch aides, teacher aides, and homeschool and preschool teachers for the amazing work that they have put in from the last school day’s focused all hands on deck process to get kids ready, to all the work we have put into eLearning last week.  That work will continue and move forward as we tackle this challenge together.

For this week we will be conducting our normal calendared Spring Break.  We will not be conducting any eLearning during that time.  However, in order to keep learning happening the best thing all parents can do is to focus on reading throughout the day.  This is the most effective learning strategy we as parents can use.  Please look for other activities that we may send to the community next week.

On a personal note, I want to thank my leadership team and staff for all they are doing.  Watching their turn around in literally 24 hours in order to continue learning for our students has been phenomenal.  We are such an amazing community.  We will get through this, because we are in this together.  From my family to your family, thank you for your trust and partnership with RMCA.  Continue to practice social distancing but reach out if you need something.  Tell your kids that Principal Mac misses them terribly.  Have a restful Spring Break.

Principal Mac
